The Oil

Tamanu oil is an excellent example of a traditional remedy which has percolated to broader attention due to a combination of effective use in traditional settings, and scientific research corroborating its benefits. The oil of tamanu offers relief for common skin problems, and has demonstrated significant benefit in hospital settings as a first aid treatment in cases of serious burns and other serious skin conditions. Tamanu oil is a remarkable topical healing agent, with general skin healing actions, antineuralgic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial (fungi, yeast, bacteriae and viruses), antibiotic and antioxidant properties.

Tamanu Oil is found in the kernel, within the nut of Tamanu fruit. The fruit is most commonly found growing in Tahiti, but it can also be found in other tropical climates. The Tamanu tree is uniquely characteristic with black cracked bark and beautiful, shiny elliptical leaves.

Likewise the Tamanu kernel is dark and small. It is made by cold-pressing of the oil from the kernels after two months of drying. The oil is much prized, and deep brownish- green in colour, and has a characteristic aromatic, rich smell. Since the Tamanu tree only blossoms twice a year, and it takes 100 kilograms of the fruit to yield 5 kilograms of the precious commodity, the oil is not cheap. But, the benefits far outweigh the time and expense of manufacturing this miracle skin care and skin repair agent.

Natives believed the Tamanu tree was a sacred gift of nature and that gods hid in its branches because of its healing powers. It was their answer to skin protection from the hot sun, high humidity and ocean winds.

Skin Care

We often hear friends and health care professionals tell us to eat right and get plenty of exercise, rest, water and a healthy diet, but we rarely hear someone suggesting we take care of our skin properly. Men in particular are ignoring the needs of their skin . It needs loving care, even when covering a male body. We tend to forget that it is an organ with important functions, without which we simply die. So, just as we would take care of our heart, our stomach, or any other part of our body, we need to take care of our skin .

It has antioxidant, anti aging, anti wrinkle properties. Considering its protective properties in cases of overexposure to the suns rays, and the fact that about 75% of premature aging of the skin is caused by UV radiation from the sun, one can understand the anti aging properties of this miracle oil. It may be used as a general age defying skin care product, securing the skins health at all times.

Our skin is the first line of defense for the rest of our body. If our skin is in bad shape, our entire body is affected. If you want to take better care of your skin , then you need to learn about Tamanu Oil and its many blessings.

Skin Problems

If you suffer from skin problems, you know how miserable and debilitating skin maladies can become. Not only is it irritating and hurtful, it leads to self-consciousness. Skin maladies affect every aspect of life. So, Tamanu Oil is a blessing for individuals suffering from a myriad of ailments and allergies.

The list includes: infections (virus, bacteria, fungi and yeast), rashes, allergies, acne, growths, eczema, burns, blemishes- even severe ones, and psoriasis. As a first aid substance it is unbeatable. Take sunburns for example, or other burns for that matter, or infections of all sorts. It soothes the pain and heals the skin , putting the victim at ease very quickly, and protecting against scarring and long term negative consequences.

Skin infections can be extremely painful, uncomfortable and irritating. After an individual is almost driven crazy by the infection, he/she generally resorts to a doctor’s visit and a prescription for an antibiotic. However, since the human body has become more resistant to the known types of antibiotics, doctors hesitate to write a script unless the patient is totally insistent and really miserable.

Now, we know of a natural means to help the skin heal. Tamanu Oil works as a topical ointment for the skin . It can be applied directly to the skin , as is, or diluted in a cream or ointment. For example, the application of a Tamanu topical cream fights the infection from the outside-in. Absorbed into skin , it helps aid the healing process. It absorbs quickly and completely, and leaves no greasy residues.

Rashes

In addition to infection, Tamanu Oil is effective in the treatment of rashes. If you have ever spent any length of time around infants, you know how miserable a diaper rash can be. Seemingly nothing can make a crying baby comfortable and happy. Then, when the diaper becomes soiled again, the rash is just irritated further.

Not all rashes are limited to small children. For example, if you have an allergy to nickel, then you already know the consequences of allowing your jeans button to touch your skin . By the time the day is over, you have a rash that almost drives you insane with discomfort.

Whether you are young or old, Tamanu Oil has been found effective in treating rashes. For small children, the topical cream can be applied during a diaper change. For adults, the oil in its purest form or a product including the oil can be used directly on the affect area of the skin .

Sometimes, rashes and other equally uncomfortable skin disorders are caused by allergies. Rashes may also be caused by infections; boils, carbuncles, folliculitis, shingles and herpes are just a few skin maladies caused by infections. Fortunately, as scientists continue to explore the many ways Tamanu Oil can assist in skin care, it can be used topically to relieve the discomfort of the occasional outbreak, or applied regularly as a skin healer to keep the symptoms at bay.

Acne

Acne is another outbreak we humans suffer from. Once a person hits puberty, acne is soon to follow. For some it is a minor annoyance for a few years. For others, it can be debilitating socially, emotionally, and physically. From a little red bump to open and oozing sores, the problem can be a lifelong challenge. The pain and scars are more than skin deep. Doctorsand patients have found that Tamanu Oil can even help acne suffers. Topically administered, Tamanu Oil can help the body’s natural defenses assist in the growth of healthy, younger looking skin , and in the elimination of acne.

Eczema

Like acne, eczema can be devastating both physically and emotionally. For example, a child with eczema will scratch until the skin is actually raw and bleeding. Even if the temptation to scratch can be controlled during waking hours, kids will scratch during sleep, waking in the morning with puffy, sore, and oftentimes bleeding wounds on the skin . Fortunately, the skin healing aspects of Tamanu Oil can also help those that suffer from the worst forms of eczema.

Psoriasis

Like eczema, psoriasis is a lifelong disease of the skin that can literally drive a person crazy. Psoriasis is much more than a flake here and an itch there. Psoriasis is a source of discomfort and pain 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Anything that will provide relief, with additional side effects is an unimaginable blessing. Tamanu Oil can be that blessing.

General Natural Skin Repair Agent

For virtually any skin irritation, disease, scar, wound, infection, burn, sunburn or abrasion, skin care and Tamanu Oil go hand in hand. As a first aid it is unsurpassed. Even serious cases are relieved through tamanu oil. Believe it or not, even internal diseases like sore throats, arthritis (70-75% success rate in relieving the suffering), neuralgia, shingles, herpes, sciatica and leprous neuritis. The topical ointment is an added boost to the healing processes the body naturally supplies. So, if you have any skin challenges, do not suffer in silence and misery. Try Tamanu Oil and watch your skin become younger and healthier right before your eyes.

The skin is the body largest organ and it covers you from head to toe. Just like the other organs, your skin also needs proper care and nourishment to look and feel healthy and avoid premature aging. There are a lot of products in the market that promise to make your skin softer, smoother and more radiant. These expensive products may come in various forms, such as lotions and creams, pills and tablets. People with skin problems usually spend a fortune just to buy these products, but they do not get their money’s worth.

The cheapest and most effective way to have healthier skin is not through the products mentioned in the previous paragraph but by changing your diet. Not all people know that the food you eat is reflected on your skin. If you learn to eat nutritious food, your skin will have a glowing and radiant look.

When you want to prevent skin problems such as pimples, acne and white and dark spots you should change your eating lifestyle. A great skin can be achieved by eating food that is rich with antioxidants. Studies showed that antioxidants in food can slow down the aging process of people. It was also found out that these can fight heart diseases and slow down cell degeneration. These foods usually have low calories that can help maintain your slim but healthy figure. You can increase your antioxidant intake by eating at least 5 to 9 servings of fruits and leafy vegetables a day. Eating these nutritious foods is much better for the body rather than taking pills.

Water intake also plays a big part in your skin health. Doctors recommend that you take at least 10 to 12 glasses of water a day. This is to avoid dehydration that will affect your cellular metabolism. Drinking enough water a day can make your skin clearer and healthier.

The substance that makes your hair grow strong and shine under the sun is the protein. Most people do not realize this, so they eat food that lack in the protein needed by the body. You must remember to increase your protein intake every day by choosing protein-rich food such as poultry, fish, chicken, and shellfish. As much as possible, lessen your red meat intake so you can avoid clogging your arteries with saturated fat.

Carbohydrates are food components that act as a source of energy. However, too much carbohydrate is not always beneficial to the body. When you eat too much food that is rich in carbohydrates, your pancreas has to increase its insulin production. This results in damaged cells and premature aging. Choose carbohydrates that have low glycaemic index to help the body absorb it.

You must also lessen you sugar intake by eating fruits instead of drinking fruit juices. This practice will prevent age spots and discoloration of the skin.

Great beauty begins from the inside and radiates out to the world through healthy, glowing skin. Unfortunately, the skin also reflects the damages we inflict on it daily. It isn’t just environmental factors that damage our skin. Factors such as stress, illnesses and malnutrition can show glaringly on our skin over time in the form of wrinkles, age spots and discoloration.

Stress and lack of exercise can impact natural beautiful skin in a negative way. For example, stress can lead to eating disorders, lack of sleep and influence hormones. All of these factors in isolation can cause considerable negative effects, but when combined, the effects can be striking and irreversible. Learning relaxation techniques or beginning an exercise program can help to fight stress-related damages. Yoga and meditation are two activities that may fill this need.

Diet is also a significant contributor of natural beautiful skin. A healthy diet that is low in fat and high in nutrition can have the effect of improving the overall appearance of skin significantly. Many skin conditions are the direct results of an unhealthy diet. For instance, acne is due in part to blocked pores. Oily unhealthy food contributes to pore blockage and that can aggravate existing acne conditions by increasing the likelihood of future eruptions. A beautiful skin diet is composed of natural, fresh and wholesome food that digests well, contributes the much needed nutrients, vitamins and compounds for healthy-looking skin and helps the body rid itself of toxins that are the creators of problem skin. Beneficial food includes high fiber and lean proteins. Vitamins that come from fresh vegetables and fruits will also make a huge difference in the skin’s overall appearance.

Last but not least, cosmetics and other skin care products are also important items for preserving natural beautiful skin. When chosen correctly, suitable skin care products, under eye creams, sunscreen lotions, shampoos, deodorants and makeup can have the potential to improve the look of your skin. Choosing products that are natural and gentle will help natural beautiful skin stay that way.

So for all beauty advocates out there, the good news here is that a healthy lifestyle that incorporates a sensible nutritious diet, regular exercise and a comprehensive skin care regiment can help you to reverse some of the adverse effects that time creates on our skin, and the best time to start is definitely now.
